I've frozen LOTS of cakes with no problem, but last night I put a 12" round (un-iced) in my new upright fridge/freezer and it's not frozen yet, just really cold.

How long does it usually take for a 3" cake to freeze? I'm hoping there's nothing wrong with my new freezer, it feels extremely cold inside.

Thank you.

Is there any way you can check the settings on your freezer? I would think that cake should be frozen by now.

We looked, but there's only one control and it's in the fridge... which seems weird to me. I'm going to look at my booklet and see what I can figure out.

Thank you.

You should have a seperate thermometer in the freezer. You can buy fridge/freezer thermometers fairly cheap at the grocery store.
