I am new and forgive me if this topic has been discussed but I did a search and nothing came up. So what I am interested in is how you all package up your cakes for delivery and set-up?

When I say new I mean I am just begining my decorating classes, but already have people interested in ordering from me. I guess because I am new it will less costly to them... icon_rolleyes.gif

Also do you charge by the mile or just a basic fee. I think I would prefer to just have them picked up but I guess that is unrealistic icon_wink.gif

Package? If I'm delivering, I just set it in the back of the truck and go, carry it into the venue and set it on the table.

I'll box it if the customer is picking it up themselves.

I have a set base fee and I add one if the venue is far away, or if the cake is big.

I box all of my cakes. For larger, tiered cakes, I use the boxing systems made by Bakery Crafts and sold at GSA.
