Hi. I am making a cars cake for my grandson. How do you or what do you use to make the checkerboard design in buttercream on the sides of the cake? the squares have to be the same size. HEEEELP!!!

You can stencil the squares or maybe cut fondant squares to apply to the BC.

Wilton has a nice set of three nested little cutters~~You might find chocolate or candy clay more resistant to stretching than fondant.
