I'm not sure if this qualifies as a cake disaster or just one in the making....I've made 2 big batches of icing with my newest box of Sweetex and there are teeny tiny flecks of shortening that just won't mix into my BC..these flecks are tiny enough to shoot through the grass tip, but didn't absorb air brush color on my deer cake, etc...little tiny glumps of shortening...what happened and what can I do to fix it?!?

Is this a sign that the Sweetex got too hot or too cold?

This is what I have read...be sure to mix your sugar and fats really, really well before adding in any liquid. So yes...maybe it had gotten wet at some point. The liquid will coat some of the fat and prevent color from blending into all of the fat. Did that make sense?
