How do the people on the ultimate cake off make all those sugar molds?

So like on the legoland one...somehow they would have had to make the lego people out of what, polymer clay or something? And then form the molds around them before the show?

I'm not really sure because I don't recall watching the episode you are referring to.

Maybe they did start with the clay or they could have just replicated a piece directly.

I'm not sure if they did it before the show--it is possible. It is also possible that they make the mold during the competition. There are some mold making supplies that will cure in a few hours--some for even less than an hour.
