I have been requested to create a lime flavored cake for an upcoming wedding. Does anybody have any recipes? Can't say I've ever made anything like that before.
Cake batter + Lime flavoring to taste.
replace the water in your recipe or mix with lime juice or margarita mix and throw in a little lime zest.
Use your standard white wedding cake recipe and substitute the lime flavoring inplace of your usual flavorings. Turns out great everytime!
Warren Brown has a "Light and lemony cake" in his cookbook. I have replaced the lemons with lime (and mint, but you can omit the mint) and it is a fabulous cake. He basically uses whole lemons segmented (limes) as well as the zest and some lemon/lime oil. I'll share the recipe if you want to PM me.
