Ok I am doing a first birthday cake for a girl who loves butterflies. they want the paisley shape with butterflies but beings its an odd shaped cake I need ideas of how to do it to make it look good. This is my idea 2 teir light pink with lime green border (thats what they want for the colors) so for border I thought make it grass and like flowers growing up on the sides of the cake and I'm making fondant butterflies with yellow bodies and white dots but I'm not sure what to do with the top. They want it to say happy first birthday _ _ _ _ _ but need ideas for the top please help....oh they want it on the side of the cake but how can i do that and make flowers on the sides and stilll look good or should i put it on top?

How about a number 1 on top with some butterflies around it?

I meant a standup #1 out of gumpaste. Sorry about that. Wasn't thinking clearly. I'm not sure about the "happy birthday" right now.
