Can I Brag For A Minute? (Please)

So I just wanted to brag for a bit.
Here is a cake that we did last week for a 21st birthday. The customer requested an Ice Dragon. It was based off of a design from Mike's Amazing Cakes (super nice, even gave me a few tips when I called for permission to copy their design)
Ok, so here is the absolute best part........I actually think I charged the right amount!!! We went with $9.25 a serving.
The neck, tail, arms and legs are all RKT (we coated the neck with melted chocolate to ensure that the RKT would hold their vertical shape). The cake is iced in BC, then covered in MMF, airbrushed with blue and then a pearl sheen. His nails have edible glitter to make them sparkle.
LOVE it!
How awesome it was to talk to and have the endorsement of Mike himself!
Make sure to email him a picture. I know he will send out kudos -
WOW! Congrats--he is awesome!! I'm also happy to hear that Mike is as nice as he seems!
9.25 per serving.
Wonderful job, making the dragon and charging for it.
You should give us tips on how to charge for a cake.
I have found my perfect 'catch phrase" for when I am not sure how they will react to the price.
I tell them the price "this is going to run you $1billion dollars, I'm not sure how that fits into your budget.............." then I wait for them to respond. Sure it's bad grammar, but it rolls quite nicely in a conversation. Also, by having already told them the price, THEN mentioning budget, most people are already so in love with the cake, that they are OK with it. Now I've had a few that have scoffed, but again, I've already put the price out there, so it's easier for me to stand firm. I also write it down on a piece of paper in front of me, so that I don't back down.
Yeah me!
That is absolutely AMAZING!!!! Keep on bragging!
I was wondering, How do you figure out how many servings these kinds of 3D cakes yeild?
