HELP!!!! I am making my first wedding cake for my only daughter . and today I got the molds i ordered from the cakery... now that i have them i have no clue . how in the world do you get a clean finished inpression? i cant seem to press the fondant into the mold and then get it out clean . hope this makes sense and one , or many of you talented cakers can help me figure out how to use these successfully. TIA
There are many ways to do it. I prefer this one method that this one lady taught me.
I dust my gumpaste with a bit of cornstarch/powdered sugar mixture and then put it into the mold. It always comes out perfect and the details are well preserved.
I also do this with the cornstarch. Moulds for large pieces such as babys and shapes etc, i know some people like to pop them in the freezer for 5 minutes before removing the gumpaste
thanks for the help.[/u]
