Buttercream - Crumb Coat

Calling all UK folks, I remembered seeing a thread here solely for UK bakers, but can't seem to find it.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you guys used for your crumb coat. I'm using all butter as there's no crisco here. But the texture doesn't look right. I find it difficult to spread. I appreciate any of your tips.
