Should I Freeze This Cake Or Not?

I made a cake for a friend's daughter's birthday party that was supposed to be tomorrow. She called and said her daughter is very sick and she is going to postpone the party til next weekend. So... she asked if I could freeze the cake. I said I could, but then I started wondering if I would be better just to refrigerate. It is a 2 tier, 6" and 9", iced in buttercream w/ MMF ribbon border and polka dots. I've never frozen a decorated cake, and I'm not sure how I would even wrap it. I thought maybe since the icing is keeping air away from the cake, it might be better in the fridge. It would be 8 days after baked & iced. Any advice?

I don't have any experience with cakes being stored for this long so, here's a bump.
