Hi,

Could anyone point me to a MMF tutorial for 3-D cakes? I did a search and was unable to come up with anything?

Thanks!

there are a few on youtube, Confetti Cakes does one thats in fast forward where she carves and covers a dog cake. There is also a lady carving and cutting a slot machine cake (pretty cool) and it really works, when you pull the handle coins come out!

Hi,

Thanks for all the info!

I am doing a 3-D military tank, actually. I do a lot of odd shapes and would like to improve my skills. I find it very challenging and often get some kind of bubbling, tearing, or something unwanted. It's a side hobby/passion, and I have been asked to do paid cakes for countless co-workers. I have finally decided to take on my first 'paid' gig (token, really) but I want to make sure I do a stellar job.

I saw one fondant tutorial where they didn't even use buttercream to dirty ice or anything - just brushed on corn syrup (as I understood). Sounds so much simpler -would you recommend? Have you tried?
