I am lost on ideas to match the bedding. It needs to be a buttercream sheet cake. I can use some fondant accents if needed. But I need some serious help!!

I try to match this bedding alot at work. We usually ice the cake white and do matching flowers in matching colors and some of the army green scroll work around the edges with mini red swiss dotting.

I would do the flowers like a fbct out of buttercream and put them on the cake once hardened, then they'll be slightly raised and look almost 3 dimensional! very cool!

Adorable! I say a nice red and white fondant ball/large piped ball border too!

When I saw that the August/Sept issue of American Cake Decorating popped in my mind.

Lynzee,

I love that cake you linked to. It looks like they used royal icing for the decorations to me.

I love it to. I keep telling myself I am going to sit down and make it. Actually all the flowers are layered fondant. There is a how too in the issue.

oh and I just noticed the diamond shaped imprint in the background, I wonder if there are any paper towels out there with that pattern? That would look so awesome to use the paper towel to go over the whole cake, giving it that imprint and then put the frozen buttercream flowers over top.
