Glitter Dust Vs. Luster Dust

Okay...I know how to use luster dust. I love it, in fact. But what is the deal with glitter dust? Doesn't seem to stay on like luster dust when I brush it onto dry fondant or dry royal. Doesn't mix with alcohol well. What in the name of mike am I supposed to use this stuff on???

That stuff is just meant for sprinkling on top of your icing to create a nice sparkle. Learned that the hard way myself, first time out icon_rolleyes.gif.
