I am working on my moms cake. I have used wilton gel paste and the icing is now bitter. Is there anyway of take the bitter out of this icing? I have tried adding more flavoring but it doesn't seem to help. Any Ideas?
I hate coloring icing because it does change the flavor of the icing, especially if you are doing a dark color. I dont know of anything that will fix it. Most people don't seem to mind much when it is paired with the cake and you are eating it, it is not as bad.
Yeah, I don't do colored icing past a pale shade. Gives me the heebies dumping in a bunch of coloring. Fondant? I'll do that as dark as I want, but only if I airbrush it.
