Is It Possible To Make An Icing That Is Not So Sweet?

I have just started a cake decorating class, which I'm really excited about. However...I have extremely sensitive teeth and cannot eat icing unless in tiny quantities. Is there anyway to make the Wilton Course 1 icing less sweet? Maybe substituting some of the powdered sugar with flour? I want to be able to taste the cakes I make. Please help!
