I am new to cake decorating and have made batches of regular buttercream and almond flavored icings. How/where do I find other flavorings such as lemon for regular buttercream icing?

you should be able to find different types of flavoring right at your local grocery store. Right along side the vanilla and almond.

Like the previous poster said, you can find lots at the grocery store, or online. I have bought lemon, banana, orange, rum...etc. It is a easy way to spruce up a plain buttercream. I tend to find more flavors at stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, but even Walmart had a bunch. Good luck! icon_biggrin.gif

i found one good way to freshen up a buttercream and still keep to the original flavor- add half vanilla and half lemon. flavor perks right up!

So we can use regular flavorings such as that used for candy, etc?
