I contacted the person who made these but haven't heard back yet so I was hoping someone else could help me out. I'd love to make these for my son's bday this week!

I was wondering how far in advance I could make the toppers and does anyone know how I would make the tiaras?

Hi, if you are using 50/50 gumpaste and fondant, then you can make it at least a week ahead. If you check under Sketches and patterns, you will find lots of crown templates. But here is Sugarshack's template,

pirtes - just semi circles of fondant (if you want them to sit like that (and be so thin) on top of the cupcake, it would need to be gumpaste, i wouldnt trust fondant to hold its strength - but its not great to eat. if you do fondant, just cut the top off the cupcke if it doesnt bake level) a bit of piping on the bandana, fondant for the eyes and patch, edible pen for the beard.

tiaras - id think gum paste... wrpped round a bit of piping or something. probably a bit of fncy cutter to make the fancy edging when they are still lying flat.
hope it helped a bit!
xx

Thanks so much for the tips! I'm definitely going to give these a try.
