I posted a thread a while back about travelling a tiered dummy cake (for a competion) on a plane and my only choice is either get a seat for my cake or check the whole thing in. My choice is to hand carry half of it and then check in the rest.
I called them and said that the box doesn't have to go through the carousel and that they can carry it for me but it will still be checked in. What is the best way to make sure that my cake will be safe in a box? Does this mean I can't do anything really fragile anymore?
Has anyone ever travelled a cake for a competition?
