What is magic paste? Heard someone say its a kind of fondant covering and I decided to find out from the endless well of knowledge we have here .
hi. i even looked it up on the internet last nite. never got an answer.. where did you hear this from.. never heard of magic paste.. who used that term...
Isn't that the chocolate stuff you can use to turn anything into chocolate, icings, cake, fillings...ect...?
When I googled Magic paste this is what I got LOL
Computer software to allow you to edit documents
Vegan food additive
A Zipper Puller from Hong Kong
A special band to affix materials to display boards
A Hoof Thrush ointment for animals
A diet cream that helps you lose weight
LOL and finally ...this thread

you sure it's not just something someone said overenthusiastically about fondant? lol. like, they loved what magic it created on cakes -- thus magic paste? (paste - like how some people call it "sugarpaste")
hey, ya never know haha
From your description, I would say it was that type of slurry some referred to...made with fondant and water(enough to make a pasty substance) for hiding boo boos and seams....

I heard about it from a cake lady who travels over the world gathering knowledge about cake and cake decorating ideas and techniques but when I asked she said she would let me know when she'ld be holding classes on it but its been a year now and I kind of felt others on here might know about it.
She says its like sugarpaste but is much better but who knows - she might just have given a different name to a well-known recipe
Does the have an accent? Maybe Mexican sounded like Magic? I am leaning towards the Mexican paste after that description.
No, not mexican paste- that's common .She said magic paste very clearly but I'm seeing her next week at our local chapter ICES exhibition and whatever I find out I'll let you all know.Thank you all for your responses .
I think it was just a smart arses way of telling her that the recipe is a secret, so she can't share.
I found this blog that says it is an inedible used to decorate your table and such, NOT cake.

so let me give this a go,
the other day i saw a sugary substance that stays soft and pliable much more so then fondant, and can be spread thin and people make a lace out of it. could this it or is that something els that you all know of.
