I have never really done any specially carved cakes until tonight. I did a cake carved like Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The problem is it's longer than the biggest cake box I have. How do you handle oddly shaped cakes? It's a grooms cake that I am delivering to a wedding tomorrow. I have it on a cake board, is it ok for me to take it with no box?

I have delivered a couple of cakes without a box and made out ok but I usually go to Wally World and just buy a regular cardboard box that the cake will fit in. You can take the box with you after the delivery and recycle them for other cakes. I have done cakes larger than a full sheet cake and delivered them without a box but I made sure they were at least covered with plastic wrap to protect them as much as I could.
