i want stars on my cake but i don't want them to sit on my cake i want some kind of clear plastic or plastic coated wire to attach them to so they are up off my cake. think of like a sparkler.... i don't know what to use.

That's a pretty popular look and there's been lots of discussion in the forums here about what kind of wire to use. Personally, I've never seen any plastic-coated wire that would work. Most of us use floral wire, which you can buy in the aisle with the silk flowers at Walmart, or at the craft store. To make it safe for the wires to go into the cake, insert them in a flower spike or in a drinking straw or hollow coffee stir stuck into the cake.
