I am making a bridal shower cake for my SIL this weekend. It is a gift box cake. I would love to do some RI stenciling on the fondant but have never done it let alone really made or used RI to any degree. Heck I have never used fondant for more than some accents on a baby shower cake.

So would I be completely over my head here?? How hard is this. I really want this cake to be nice.

I originally wanted to try stamping on an ornate letter B for her new last name but couldn't find a stamp I liked in my price range. So I think the stamping idea is out.

Also if you take a look at the inspiration cake would you cover the whole cake in white fondant and then do a brown lid on top of it or would you do panels of white on the sides with a brown lid on the top??

Thanks in advance for any opinions or advice that anyone can give me!
Amanda

I am attaching a picture of the cake that I am using as inspiration. It is by LisaR64. My cake will only be a square though...no round cake.
