Does anyone know where I can get royal icing or gel that I can pipe with that has been tinted already so that I dont have to paint it on.

I've used luster dust, but not with liquid. If you "paint" royal, won't it melt?

use with vodka, it dries faster and how big or small are the pieces? If they're large pieces and thoroughly dry you should be alright. Your not drenching the pieces, just brushing them with color.

Thanks, Brenda -- I'm thinking of piped royal icing lines and dots -- cornelli lace, swirls, etc. I have always found that stuff to be pretty brittle, and I thought it would dissolve if it got wet...

You will be fine..Vodka is alcohol based and dries fast. So it will dry before it melts the Royal icing.

Thanks, tonedna -- the best thing ABOUT vodka is that it's alcohol based. Which reminds me, it's just about cocktail hour here!
