Hi there, I'm just curious if anyone has ever decorated a cake with buttercream and placed it in a box and froze it. Did it turn out well? Also, did you wrap your box with anything? I need to do several dozen cupcakes for the Halloween season and I wanted to do them all ahead of time seeing that they will all be due on Halloween. Please advise.

Thank you!

Yes, you can freeze cakes and cupcakes with buttercream decorations, I would not keep it in the freezer for more than 4 weeks. Some colors may fade, so I would freeze cupcakes with white icing and airbrush later. Or you can take a chance, I think yellow should be ok, not sure about bright orange.

Thank you for the advice. I think I may get started this weekend.
