pot is just a standard multi-tiered cake -- at least 3 tiers tall (12") --

but the trick is ---

all the tiers are the SAME size -- say all tiers are 10" or 12" round

when stacked you get on big cylinder of cake that makes a pot!

cover sides in BC or fondant.

handles out of gumpaste and stuck to cake using toothpicks or skewers

on top -- blue tinted piping gel for water

and then model a few lobsters, shrimp, clams, etc to look as if in the pot

(of course my sense of humor would have the lobster in a diving mask w/ a snorkel and the shrimp wearing a bikini. Clams could be hold signs -- NOT Talking: clammed up!")
