How do I make cake tires for my VW bus cake? It is (going to be) made of two loaf pans and then carved down some. I watched this video and it shows the tires briefly but haven't the foggiest idea what they are made of
(about 10 seconds in)

They almost look like donuts.

I made my tires using the cake scraps, crumbled, mixed with bc (just like making bakerlla's cake pops), mashed them flat to about 1" thick, used a round cookie cutter to cut out the tires, and finally covered them in fondant. Just an idea and good luck!

I think those wheels are RKT's covered in fondant. I normally just cut out black fondant with my circle cutter and let it dry for a week or so before I make the cake. I like Angelfood 4's idea though, that's great.
