I am doing a wedding cake and the client has requested fall leaves on it. I plan on making them out of gumpaste. Any suggestions on how to colour it to make the leaves look real.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

thanks

Amy

I like to do my leaves solid yellow and/or red then brush on colored dusts for a varying effect. If you don't want to put in that much effort then you can just take several different color pastes and marble together.

hey Amycat, welcome to CC! Here's another forum post that covered the making of fall gumpaste leaves... I think tonedna's at the bottom are incredible. You might get some additional ideas from this:

[i]I make mine with various leaf cutters/veiners; no particular preference. I used a mix of fondant/gumpaste, in fall colors, dried and used several colors of petal/luster dusts to achieve to finished colors..
edited to say.. it's in my photos.. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif
