Hello!

Please help me quick!!

I have just put my first batch of MMF on my ganache covered cake & it was fine & smooth & great when i kneaded it & rolled it out but now that its on the cake it has the texture of scaley dry skin - not a good look.

Please tell me how to fix it please!! CAN IT BE SAVED?!

I need this cake for tommorrow!

PLEASE!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

When it has that (I call it "elephant skin") it really needs to be kneaded more. Can you get it off that cake and scrape all of the icing off of it? IF you can - do that and warm it up in the microwave, then knead a little (just a little) shortning into it - and KNEAD it - that is what is wrong, you didn't knead it enough to start out with. I don't know of anything you can do to fix it if you just leave it on the cake. Good luck.
