I really want a kitchenaid but can't afford a new one. There is a KA-5, 15 volts and 3amps and comes with 3 attachments. Does anyone have one of these and is it something I should get?

I have the Kitchen Aid Professional 6, and I love it. I think the main difference is the size of the bowl and attachments. You will be really glad you got it, especially if you've been using a hand mixer!

I have an older KA-5 and I think it's great. It has a 5 quart bowl - I have fit enough batter for a 12x18 sheet cake (although that is about the max). I have done cake batter, cookie dough, buttercream, royal icing, bread dough, and MMF - and it has handled all of that. In fact, I just bought a second bowl on eBay to make my life easier. If you have found a good deal - I would go for it.
