Hi, Say I am making a cake for a Saturday, but the customers are leaving Thursday night or Friday morning. Can I bake & dec the cake Thursday or Thursday night with buttercream, no perishable fillings and it will still be fresh tasting on Sat? If so, how do I box it up for them, to guarentee freshness?
Yes, you can bake and decorate your cake ahead of time. After your cake is decorated you can just place it in the fridge and it will be just as good as when you baked it once it comes to room temp. Do not attempt to wrap t or you'll ruin the design. If there are no perishables in the cake it can travel just fine in a cake box.
