Do I need to refrigerate the cake on Friday or Saturday?

I would refrigerate it. I find that it helps maintain moisture and firms it up. I usually bake in advance, wrap it up and freeze them. Then I take them out to thaw in the refrigerator the day before I want to decorate. They always taste fresh.
