Best Fillings

Hi all..I'm new to fondant cakes, and looking for cake fillings that wont cave under the weight. Any advise? Thanks

I've never heard of a filling being unsuitable for a fondant cake. The key to any filling is to not use too much - you want just enough to cover the cake. Use a nice thick dam to keep it from oozing out, and any filling should be fine! thumbs_up.gif

try to go for a filling that isn't going to get too soft on you. something that melts easily probably isnt good. that out of the way I love ganache or cream cheese frostings. they are a bit stiffer and don't melt so quickly. swiss meringue buttercream melts easily. i've tried it out. unless you plan on keeping it in the fridge until right before you're going to use it. hope that helps!

Thanks guys. I watch the cake contests, and they always have such awesome flavored cakes and fillings. Really thick. That's what I'm looking for.
