I'm making a pirates treasure chest for a party tomorrow. it's chocolate orange. the orange comes from marmalade. i've made it before but it was 2 years ago. this time around it tastes really bitter. my daughter spat it out.

Any advice other than to bake again?

Is the marmalade a filling...Is this a choc. cake? I know that the orange zest (in the marmalade) if it has too much of the white pith, will be bitter...Should be mostly the orange part of the peel...Very little of the white.
