The birthday boy has asked me for chocolate cake with cream cheese icing for his 18th cake (we work together.) I have never tried this combo, has anyone ever used it and if so was it good? any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA

it does in my world. If thats what the birthday boy wants that is what he should have.

That is my sisters favorite combination! Usually her request every year! They go great together!

Wonderful - thanks ladies! I've only ever made it with carrot or banana cake. He's so cute, he's messaged me from a post about my cakes on facebook. "Let's use the cream cheese part - you can keep the banana!"

Does cream cheese icing go with chocolate cake?

1) I tend to view questions like this as "Why wouldn't it?"
2) If that's what the birthday boy wants, then I don't see the question.
3) I make it all the time.
