I am still quite new at all of this cake stuff. I have a couple of questions. It is Monday evening now and I just made a cake, filled it and crumb coated it. It is due on Wednesday morning. My questions are:
1) Is it too early to do what I have done so far? How far in advance do you all make/frost/fill cakes.

2) Now what do I do with the cake for tonight and tomorrow? I am hesitant to just leave it on my counter. What is the right thing to do? Just fyi, it is a white cake filled with strawberry filling and crumb coated with bc. I will add the fondant either tonight or tomorrow night.

Thanks so much!

I read on a post wish I could remember which one sorry...anyway to put it in the refridgerator to set up, then apply fondant, and then put back into the fridge. I have been doing this, and have had way better luck~no air bubbles showing up underneath fondant. I let mine settle overnight, so that I can trim off any bulging around the edges before applying fondant. HTH
