Why Was My Ri So Dry?

I made some Antonio74 Royal Icing a few weeks ago and it was dry. After I outlined my cookies, the outlines started to crack and break. I had terrible peaks too when the lines met. Even when using the flooding consistency, they didn't flood very well and they didn't look right.

Any idea what could of gone wrong?

Sounds as if there wasn't enough water added in the last step.

It should be the consistency of white glue.
