I am making cupcakes with these little Super Mario Cupcake toppers. What color should I use to ice the cupcakes? I thought about yellow but in my head... it's not looking right. Should I stick with white or go with one of the mushroom colors?

I'd love some suggestions. Thanks guys!!!

i'd say sky blue, as well. it's such a prominent color in the mario games. also, to me, if you iced the cupcakes in the same color as your mushrooms (darker blue, red, or green), it would blend too much. does that make sense?

major mario fan right here! super nintendo is still the best game system around icon_biggrin.gif

What about green? The color of the tunnels in the game are that bright green.

shill,
How about using the same red, green, and blue as the toppers. Just alternate the cake toppers with the colors. Since Mario wears red and Luigi wears green and they both wear blue overalls those colors should fit perfect.

shill,
Or maybe a lighter color red, green, and blue then the toppers.

Quick question - what icing did you use for those cupcakes? And what tip did you pipe with?I think they turned out great! icon_smile.gif Love them!

Buttercream with 1/2 butter and 1/2 shortening. I piped with the bigger round tip. Can't remember the number... I think it's like 1/4 inch diameter...
