Does anyone own the Professional Book of Cake Decorating by Toba Garrett? I'm considering buying it, but it's $85. I have one of her cookie books and I didn't really like it, too intricate/not my style kind of cookies. The book looks good, looking for feed back, thanks!

Have you thought about looking for it at your local library to see if it's worth buying? I'm pretty sure that my library has it -- yours may, too.

That is a textbook that they now use at the school where she teaches. It is similar in content to her other book, The Well Decorated Cake, but has some more information in it.

It is a good book for someone who can teach themself.

I'll have to see if our library has it!

never thought about the library, our library is only a year old so there's not a ton of books yet. But I'll check, thanks

I borrowed it from our library, and I didn't like it too much. I felt that it was a book that was meant to be an accompaniment to an actual class. I didn't feel it went into details all that well, especially when it came to things like making gumpaste flowers.
