help! Do I bake the spherical cake in one or in two separate halves and then sandwich together??? to make a sphere/football???

Here's the product info on the Sports Ball Pan set:

There are two pans and two pan stands (but no pan clips), each pan requires 2-1/2 cups of batter. So I'd say you bake two cakes and sandwich them together. icon_smile.gif

To make a 3D ball using either of the above pans, you'd need to bake two cakes and then sandwich them together with filling.

Cutting a small level base on the bottom of the 1st layer will allow the cake to sit securely on the cake board.
