Hi everyone

I am so excited I just made mmf for the first time ever. I usually purchase satin ice. Not any more I don't think. It is in it's resting period so not sure about how it actually is but i was so happy that it was so easy I used the how to under the article section. so easy. I just made sure that I greased everything that this substance was going to encounter this helped to reduce the sticking to everything. by the terture of it now I assume it is goinmg to be great. Now lets sum this up normally I pay $9 for a 2lb container of satin ice fondant and $8 for 2lb of satin ice gumpaste.

I am going to try gumpaste another time.

16 oz of marshmallow $1.50
2lb powder sugar $1.30
flavoring lets just say $0.05
shortining lets just say $0.02
Thats a total of $2.87 for 3lbs this to me is tremedous
THANK YOU TO ALL MY NEW FREINDS AT CC

That's great!

When you try gumpaste, use Nicholas Lodge's recipe. It's the best icon_biggrin.gif

I have made Michelle Foster's Fondant and likes it very much, Have never tried MMF because I like the one I already make and it tastes good too, I also tried Nic Lodge's Gumpaste and it is just great, I have to agree with you, you save so so much

i'd never worked with gumpaste before so i tried nicholas lodge's recipe. i was spooked by the spongy texture at first but its quite sturdy and great to work with. my first attempt at roses looks pretty good if i do say so myself.

Making your own is good if you do not have a lot of orders but when you get several you may reconsider using Satin Ice still. I will do both it depends on the job. I use Michelle Foster also haven't tried that one.

i've heard that some have a problem with the "new" crisco because of the 0 trans fat but i used crisco and it was fine.
