Hi,

Hoping to put my mexican modelling paste roses onto the wedding cakes in the next few days..the wedding being on Saturday.
Just wanted to ask if the roses shall keep if I attach them today..
If not, I shall have to do it on Friday.
Any advice gratefully recieved!
Thanks,
Clare

I would wait and put them on the cake on Friday. Or possibly even at the venue itself.

Hi Clare, have you covered the cakes with fondant or buttercream? If its fondant, you can do it today or even tomorrow. If its buttercream, I would wait till friday. Once the flowers are attached to the cakes, not sure they would go soft or not. Because I haven't used mexican paste to make my flowers. I always use gumpaste. icon_smile.gif

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the advice . I am using fondant icing, am still not sure how long the roses will last . I'll put one on tonight and check the consistency of the icing tomorrow night, when I'll decide!
Thanks for the tips ;0)
Clare x
