I have heard a few times now that the frosting comes out just as fine with regular Crisco...is this true? Has anyone tried this? And in the recipe here on CC, it says flavorings and coffee creamer. What flavorings do I use and how much, and what kind of coffee creamer do i use? Thanks

I use her recipe and do stick to using hi-ratio. It really does crust well.
As for creamer, I use store brand powder, not necessarily Coffee Mate. I've used flavored ones as well. Yum! Also, I use a bit more than her recipe. It makes it easier for me to ice a cake.
For the flavorings, she uses something called wedding bouquet. I bought it and did NOT like it. I just use vanilla and almond.

1. It does come out fine but some people complain about Crisco being greasier and that there is a big difference when they use Sweetex or Apline
2, For flavorings you can choose whatever you always use (vanilla, almond...) and use the amount on the recipe
3. I use coffee mate regular creamer but I want to try the hazelnut and the chocolate for chcolate buttercream
