hello all. I joined this community in hopes of learning how to decorate a cake. I'll be practicing before making a co-workers baby shower cake. (scary music playing in the background)
So I can bake, and my cakes are really yummy. But what kind of cake holds up best to buttercream and fondant?! Is there a cake that would be too moist? I was planning on doing a mixed berry cake with a cream cheese frosting... how dense should the cake be? or does it really matter if I freeze & then decorate?!
thank you for any help!

I use a wasc recipe when putting fondant on it. It's a little denser. I like to freeze mine because they seem moister when I do.
