Hey everyone! So here's my dilemma.... I am making an almond cake from scratch tonight and only have half as much almond paste as I need.....I don't have the money to buy another tube tonight. It has almond paste and almond extract in it so I'm not worried about the flavor but my question is how do you think it will affect the cake if I only put in half as much? Will it sink or have a bad texture? Do you think theres something else I should add in? Thanks in advance!

You can make almond paste from scratch --it's the only way I ever use it. Do you have raw almonds on hand? My recipe uses an egg yolk, crushed almonds and powdered sugar. Easy as can be.

So very sorry I didn't see this post until now. How did things turn out.
It would have been hard to answer you ? anyway.
How much is '1/2 the amount'? Most likely it would have turned out just fine - maybe just a bit under flavored but I don't think it would have effected the texture much if any.
