Hey Everyone
I'm making my father in laws 70th birthday cause (for about 150) people, i have made his favourite cake (which is a basic cake)
Flour, Sugar, Eggs, Milk, Fairy Marg and Custard Powder.

He favourite icing is Lemon - just icing sugar bit of butter and lemon juice & zest

So anyway i am making him an 'esky' cake which will be 5 sheet cakes "glued" together with filling and then iced (anything but fondant)

What would be the nicest filling to go with this flavor cake? And what would you cover the cake with to compliment the cake and fillling/
The frosting will be white and blue..

Raspberry or cream cheese filling. Or use that lemon glaze as the filling and a fluffy white buttercream icing

Do you think the lemon would taste okay with the buttercream./??

Also i have been thinking maybe i could to like a custard cream filling? Can anyone tell me how you make it pleasE?

I could search a couple of weeks ago - has the recipe part changed recently??? I'm confused to what i'm doing wrong..
