I just would like a general hourly rate for a grocery store cake decorator. I know that they vary by state, so if anyone knows what it is in North Carolina that would be great.
I decorate cakes at home, but not for profit, and need a real paying job. I know that the hourly rate will probably be low, but would love to get some different experience or have that type of experience so that if I every open up my own business I know how to work with commerical equipment, etc.
I have a bachelor's degree, but no actual working experience in a job as a baker.
Any input about the work life and salary of a grocery store cake decorator/baker would be greatly appreciated.
I know a girl who worked as a decorator in a grocery store and she made just barely over minimum wage. Minimum wage here in NC is $7.25 an hour. I really wouldn't guess you would make more than that, if you do it would not be much more at all.
