I have to make a cake using this invitation. I would like to see what all you fabulous decorators would do.
Thanks

Well I'd definitely use a damask print on there somewhere (using cutters are easier) but you could use a stencil or you could make your own stencil or template for the damask design. I'm thinking black damask on white cake so it matches that part of the invitation or you could do the opposite and do white on black. Maybe a ribbon to match the pink/red colour if you want to use that in part of your design?

Here are some pics (you may need to scroll down on some of these to get to the cake pics with the damask on it):

You can get these stencils at several places:

This one's got the design done with edible paper:

There are so many pretty cakes with damask designs on them it's hard to decide which ones to post so I just did the first few I saw.

I really like this cake by FromScratch. To match the invitation, I'd use the damask black on white pattern on all the tiers. I'd probably leave off the swags, but keep the poppies for that little punch of deep red.

I would do black with white damask like the invite. I think it will also be more striking. I would do a thin ribbon going around eack tier the same shade as the red.

Try the pink damask on black fondant with white accents. Perhaps a large 16 or flowers in white. I think the black damask on white is to much like a wedding not a sweet 16 cake. Can't wait to see what you do.

I had another idea, but I couldn't figure out how to explain it in words very well, so here's a rough image. This way you could tie in the red damask on the right side of the invitation.

I can't think of any ideas because all my mind is saying to me right now is..............................gatecrashers.

I certainly don't mean to offend or upset you. But EVERYONE can see that address and phone number. Whether they are members of CC or not.

Unless, of course, it's just example info. I do hope so.

I think it'd be cute with tuxedo strawberries on it. Since it's a black and white attire party, those would be appropriate and adorable.
