I too am VERY new and recently volunteered to do a stacked cake for a group of about 30 of my peers and bosses at our next meeting! What was I thinking! lol But you've truly inspired me. I have a few weeks to plan but I will post pics too. You did a wonderful job!!

Donnabugg, if i can do it, you can do it!!!
Just make sure you plan everything well in advance and give yourself a time buffer in case anything goes wrong, and hopefully you won't have to use it!!
Also, try to anticipate any difficulties you might have ahead of time and ask lots of questions here. Everyone on CC is so helpful and generous in sharing their knowledge and skills.

Thanks everyone for your lovely feedback.
The baby shower party was great and everyone really liked the cake, especially the mum-to-be. And it was delicious too.
I guess it doesn't get much better than that!

Can't wait for my next one. I'm going to try making a chessboard cake for my husband's birthday later this month. I may be calling on some of you for more advice!!
