I'm needing to make a SC Gamecocks cake this Thursday and I have no idea how to make black and garnet food coloring. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Oh, i want to use buttercream frosting.

I haven't personally tried this yet, but to make garnet color, I would try 80%-85 burgandy gel color with 15-20% brown. I have that stone for a birthstone and that's pretty much what it looks like to me. Just test a very small batch.

Garnet is my (January) birthstone and I've always wished I had something else. icon_cry.gif I'd agree with the above combination .... garnet is a muted color and I thik the brown will do that.
